Trial information – PLEASE READ before trial.

.

On arrival at trials all players must please ensure they sign in with their nomination slips that the school will give you. Once signed in players are encouraged to warm up independently to ensure once trials start they are ready and prepared properly. Players must bring suitable clothing for the conditions and ensure they have drinks and shin pads also.

.

Trials will consist of small sided matches where players will play for approx 40 mins. It is during this time that players are assessed.

We ensure that players in initial trials have as much game time as possible. It is important for players to feel they have had the opportunity to demonstrate their ability and we acknowledge this.

.

Selection Process….

.

Selectors are placed around the pitches and are assessing players as they demonstrate their ability. Selection is based on many factors and we have a proven track record of ensuring we select the right players to represent their County.

Players will face greater scrutiny once they progress to trial 3 and 4 as competition for places becomes tougher.

.

As reference for players and parents we take the trial process very seriously. Each pitch has a pitch manager that looks after the players and player welfare. The pitch manager is not the selector!

The selectors are situated around the pitches and have the task along with the Wales National Scout to select players.

Through many years of coaching and talent identification involving grass roots, county, academy and national standard players we are in a strong position to assess and gauge which players we believe are suitable to progress.

.

The selectors are very experienced at Player Identification and use the same methods that professional clubs and the National team use in identifying talent. The process is as thorough as possible and although it may seem manic on the day, it is run as professionally as possible. We thank you for your patience.

.

Unfortunately  due to the number of players that trial we will not be able to give any feedback regarding non-selection.

.

We appreciate and understand that non selection brings about a range of questions and queries. If parents/players have any important queries regarding non-selection please contact your nominating school to seek information. We will NOT be in a position to discuss any individual player. It will be the school that we shall communicate with for child protection reasons.
